History: Team Sahlen purchased the factory built Audi R8 in the Spring of 2019. Prior to being in the Team Sahlen stable, the R8 raced professionally in various series including IMSA ROLEX and World Challenge. The Audi was named “Retro” in part because the logo used was the original Sahlen’s Logo. “Retro” has won numerous times OVERALL in the American Endurance Racing Series.
“Pepper” – Porsche Cayman GT4

Series: IMSA Continental Tire Series, Summit Racing – American Endurance Racing
History: Built by Team Sahlen in the winter of 2013 to race in the IMSA Continental Tire Series. During that season, “Pepper” secured runner up in the ST class championship. “Pepper” has continued to race in the American Endurance Racing series, securing OVERALL Victories. The nickname came due to the black fenders being like pepper. Cayman is the sister car to “Salt”
“Salt” – Porsche Cayman GT4

Series: IMSA Continental Tire Series, Summit Racing – American Endurance Racing, World Racing League, Tire Rack – ChampCar Endurance Series.
History: Built by Team Sahlen in the winter of 2013 to race in the IMSA Continental Tire Series. “Salt” holds the distinction of being the only car to win OVERALL in the American Endurance Racing series, World Racing League and ChampCar Endurance Series. Proceeding forward, the Cayman will continue to race in the American Endurance Racing series and ChampCar Endurance Series. The nickname came due to the white fenders being like pepper. Cayman is the sister car to “Pepper”

History: Built by Team Sahlen in the spring of 2019 to race in the ChampCar Endurance Series. “Ketchup” has secured several OVERALL Victories in the series, including the legendary Longest Day of Nelson 24 Hours. The nickname came due to the red fenders being like pepper. Cayman is the sister car to the “Mustard” Boxster
“Mustard” – Porsche Boxster

History: Team Sahlen adopted “Chili in the spring of 2022 to be utilized as a practice car and serve as a back up racer at weekend events. The Boxster has previously raced in NASA SpecBoxster, World Racing League and American Endurance Racing
“H2O” – Mazda MX6
Years Active: 1994-1999, 2011-Present
Series: IMSA Firestone Firehawk, Professional SportsCar Endurance Series, SPEEDVision Cup, Motorola Cup, 24Hours of LeMons
History: Built by Team Sahlen in the summer of 1994 to race in the Firehawk Series. “H2O” holds the distinction of winning the 1st WorldWide victory by this MX6 model line at the 1995 Texas World Speedway event in the Touring Class. Assisted in Team Sahlen securing the 1998 Professional SportsCar Endurance Series Touring Class Team Championship, as well as the 1999 Motorola Cup Endurance Series Touring Class Driver Championship. Team Sahlen sold “H2O” in 2000 and the purchased then Mazda back from this owner in 2011. The MX6 is now being rebuilt to compete in the venerable 24Hours of LeMons series. “H2O” received its nickname for the distinctive design featuring the globe painted around the entire car.
“Salsa” – Acura Integra LS
Years Active: 2002-2003, 2014-Present
Series: Grand-Am Cup, 24Hours of LeMons
History: Built by Team Sahlen in the winter of 1993 to race in the Grand-Am Cup. “Salsa” holds the distinction of winning the 1994 Grand-Am Cup ST II class Team, Manufacturer and Driver Championship, as well as finishing in 3rd place in the 2003 STII title. Team Sahlen sold “Salsa” in 2004 and then purchased the Acura from this owner in 2013. The Integra is now being rebuilt to compete in the venerable 24Hours of LeMons series. “Salsa” received its nickname for the “Hot Dog Dancing Team” moniker in the 24Hours of Lemons Series.

History: Built by Team Sahlen in the summer of 2011 to race in the ChampCar Endurance Series. “Charcoal” holds the distinction of one of the longest active race cars in the ChampCar seriesm, where it has secured several Class B victories. The nickname came due to the all black racer looking more and more like piece of charcoal used to grill a Sahlen’s Hot Dog.
“Dijon” – Mazda RX7

Series: Tire Rack – ChampCar Endurance Series, World Racing League
History: Built by Team Sahlen in the spring of 2015 to race in the ChampCar Endurance Series. “Dijon” holds the distinction of securing the closest margin of OVERALL Victory in ChampCar series history at less than 5 feet! Additionally, “Dijon” secured an OVERALL victory in the World Racing League. Originally nicknamed “Mustard”, the Rotary Rocket was renamed “Dijon” in 2019.
“Lunatic” – Porsche Cayman GT4

Series: Summit Racing – American Endurance Racing Series
History: Team Sahlen purchased “Lunatic” from BGB Motorsports in 2017. “Lunatic” holds the distinction of winning the 2014 ROLEX GTX Class Championship with BGB campaigning the Cayman. The Porsche has the unique distinction of the 1st Porsche race car worldwide to win an endurance race OVERALL with a street production PDK Transmission. “Lunatic” received its name from BGB for being kind of crazy. Team Sahlen felt this name was very fitting and retained the unusual name.
“Saucy” – Porsche Cayman GT4

History: Team Sahlen purchased “Saucy” from BGB Motorsports in 2018. Equipped with a PDK Transmission, “Saucy” won OVERALL in the American Endurance Series. Nickname resulted from being a very “Saucy” car to drive

History: Team Sahlen built “Ketchup” in the summer of 2015. “Ketchup” secured OVERALL Victories in the Tire Rack – ChampCar Endurance Series. Additionally, the RX7 secured an OVERALL Podium in the World Racing League. Nickname came from the obvious aspect of being red like ketchup.

History: Team Sahlen acquired “Mustard” for the Daytona Prototype Class, The Riley Chassis was equipped with BMW Power. During the season, “Mustard” led OVERALL at the Kansas Speedway event.

History: Team Sahlen acquired “Soccer Ball” in 2009. This was the original RX8 built by SpeedSource. The Riley Chassis was equipped with a ear blasting 3 rotary motor. This car assisted Mazda in winning the 2011 ROLEX GT Manufacturer’s Championship. The car acquired its nickname via the Soccer themed paint scheme in the marketing tie in with the Sahlen’s owned Western New York Flash Women’s Soccer Team

History: Team Sahlen raced this car to compete in the ROLEX series. Will Nonnamaker drove this car to the 2005 ROLEX “Bob Akin” Sportsman Award. Team Sahlen developed this GT3 Cup into a “wide body” chassis with revised splitter, wing plate height, and fender flares for wider stance.
