After just a short 4 week break, Team Sahlen, presented by\nhoneybeeBase.com, returns to the race track with the Tire Rack \u2013 ChampCar Endurance\nSeries.  This event will be The Beaver\nRiver Grand Prix at Pitt Race.  Friday will\nbe an open test day for all racers.  Team\nSahlen will shake down both the #942 \u201cKetchup\u201d and #943 \u201cMustard\u201d Porsche\nBoxsters in advance of Saturday\u2019s 8 hour enduro.  The team will also be utilizing the #941\n\u201cChili\u201d during the day for extra track time for all 4 drivers: Joe Sahlen, Joe\nNonnamaker, Wayne Nonnamaker & Will Nonnamaker.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At last year\u2019s event, Team Sahlen had the amazing fortune of\nsecuring 1st<\/sup> & 2nd<\/sup> Overall in Saturday\u2019s 8 hour\nenduro.   For Saturday\u2019s event, the random starting draw\nsaw Team Sahlen roll off the grid in in 40th<\/sup> and 41st<\/sup> out\nof 53 entries.  Starting drivers Joe Sahlen and Wayne Nonnamaker did not\nlet this momentous task deter them from charging to the front.  At the end\nof the duo\u2019s stint, they handed \u201cMustard\u201d and \u201cKetchup\u201d over in 1st<\/sup> and\n3rd<\/sup> Place Overall.  The team was able to be very fortunate\nin the early stages of the race in pitting under Yellow \/ Code 35s.  This\nallowed for the team to diminish the time lost on track from the mandatory 5\nminute pit stops.  As the race neared the final \u00bc of the race, the\n\u201cMustard\u201d entry had an unscheduled pit stop for a tire that need\nreplaced.  This slight hiccup slotted in the final finishing order with\n\u201cKetchup\u201d securing the victory and \u201cMustard\u201d securing 2nd<\/sup> in\nthe 8 hour event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then backing up that result with another 1st<\/sup>\n& 2nd<\/sup> Overall in Sunday\u2019s 7 hour enduro.  The shorter 7 hour event saw the team focusing\non setting a strong pace while conserving fuel to ensure the race could be made\non 3 stops. This strategy worked out as the team was able to stretch the tank\nto 2 hours and reach a full course caution that set the team up well for later\npit strategy.  The race continued forward with both \u201cMustard\u201d and\n\u201cKetchup\u201d running fast, error free laps around the track.  This resulted\nin the Team positioned at the end of the race to cross the line in a duplicate\n1st<\/sup> and 2nd<\/sup> place finish to Saturday.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team Sahlen has now secured OVERALL Victory in ChampCar at PittRace dating back to 2020.\u00a0 The team knows that good fortune of winning each year at PittRace takes a lot of good fortune. Wayne Nonnamaker shared his thoughts on the win streak \u2013 \u201cWinning even once in the ChampCar series is difficult.\u00a0 For us to have pulled off 4 years in a row is an amazing streak.\u00a0 The competition is super tough in the ChampCar series, and we will have our work cut out for us to continue this streak.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday\u2019s 8 hour enduro will start at 9 am, with the\ncheckered flag flying at 5 pm. Then on Sunday\u2019s 7 hour enduro the race will\nagain start at 9 am, with the conclusion being at 4 pm.  The race will be televised on\nChampCarLive.com presented by AutoZone. \n(The channel is accessible through YouTube)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
