Friday was set up day at the track. All rigs rolled\ninto the track at 11 am. And then the crew went to work unloading the hot dog\nracers, going through tech, setting up the paddock &amp; pits.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"678\" src=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-b-1024x678.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8568\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-b-1024x678.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-b-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-b-768x508.jpg 768w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-b.jpg 1423w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Saturday\ndawned with a Driver\u2019s Meeting \u2013 immediately followed by the start of the race\nat 9 am.&nbsp; At the Driver\u2019s Meeting, the\nrandom pit stall draw for starting position saw Team Sahlen secure the honor of\nstarting dead last in the 100 car field.&nbsp;\nThe Team and Drivers saw the fun challenge in coming through the pack to\nbegin the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"676\" src=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-d-1024x676.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8570\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-d-1024x676.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-d-300x198.jpg 300w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-d-768x507.jpg 768w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-d.jpg 1417w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The\nstart of the race saw crystal clear, blue skies. Starters Joe Sahlen and Joe\nNonnamaker did an excellent job in making their way through the pack.&nbsp; The unfortunate timing of Yellow flag \/ Code\n35 saw Team Sahlen drop back in the order.&nbsp;\nThis placed the team still working their way into the Top 10\noverall.&nbsp; The team continued to battle\nhard, setting very strong pace on track.&nbsp;\nThen at the mid point in the race, both Hot Dog racers made their way\ninto the Top 10.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"680\" src=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/daytona-14hr-e-1024x680.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8571\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/daytona-14hr-e-1024x680.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/daytona-14hr-e-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/daytona-14hr-e-768x510.jpg 768w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/daytona-14hr-e.jpg 1410w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The\nnext several hours saw Team Sahlen then start to challenge for the Top 3 Podium\nslots.&nbsp; The competition became very\nintense at the sharp end of the grid.&nbsp;\nWayne and Will Nonnamaker battled hard with the front runners, running\ncompetitive times that saw the racers make up ground and gain a gap on many in\nthe Top 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-g-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8573\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-g-1024x681.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-g-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-g-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-g.jpg 1416w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">In\nthe penultimate stint that was fully in the dark, both Joe &amp; Joe did an\nexcellent job staying out of trouble and putting in super strong laps to keep\nthe team in 1<sup>st<\/sup> and 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Place.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Joe\nSahlen shared his thoughts after his stint \u2013 \u201cWow, the Team Sahlen Boxsters\nwere really hooked up.&nbsp; The crew did an\namazing job prepping the cars.&nbsp; They were\njust as strong at the end of the race as the beginning.&nbsp; And getting to drive Daytona again in the\nnight was a great experience.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"680\" src=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-f-1024x680.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8572\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-f-1024x680.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-f-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-f-768x510.jpg 768w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daytona-14hr-f.jpg 1415w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">In\nthe last stint of the race, Wayne Nonnamaker found himself with a 5 second gap\nto 2<sup>nd<\/sup> place.&nbsp; Over the last\n30 minutes of the race, Team Sahlen exchanged the lead with the Premium Dudes\n10-15 times.&nbsp; One lap Team Sahlen would\ncross the finish line in 1<sup>st<\/sup> and the next the order would be\nswapped.&nbsp; As the final lap concluded,\nWayne was just 1 car length behind from the win.
