Team\nSahlen, presented by honeybeeBase.com, kicks off the 2024 season at Daytona\nInternational Speedway.  The event will\nbe the Daytona 14 Hours with the Tire Rack \u2013 ChampCar Endurance Series.  This will be the 2nd<\/sup> time the team\nhas entered the Daytona 14 Hours.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team 1st<\/sup> raced at Daytona in 1996. \nOver the span of years, the Sahlen racers has been fortunate to secure 8\nvictories at this legendary race track. The last time the team won at Daytona\nwas 2006.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In last\nyear\u2019s 14 Hours, the team ran in the Top 3 with their Porsche Boxsters until mechanical\nissues took both cars out of the race. The 1st<\/sup> time the team ran the\nDaytona 14 hours was 2016, where the team entered 3 Mazda RX7s with a best of\n32nd<\/sup> in the 133 car field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team Sahlen has also competed in three additional 14 hour\nTire Rack \u2013 ChampCar Endurance Series events: Nelson Ledges 2013 \u2013 5th<\/sup>,\nPittsburgh 2015 \u2013 5th<\/sup>, 9th<\/sup> & 13th<\/sup>,\nSebring 2020 \u2013 2nd<\/sup> & 3rd<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drivers for this weekend\u2019s event will be Joe Sahlen, Joe\nNonnamaker, Wayne Nonnamaker & Will Nonnamaker. The team will be racing their\n#942 \u201cKetchup\u201d & #943 \u201cMustard\u201d ECS Tuning Porsche Boxsters.  The last\nevent of 2023 for Team Sahlen was the Tire Rack \u2013 ChampCar Endurance Series Sebring\nNew Year\u2019s Eve event.  In this event Team\nSahlen was able have a dream event, securing 1st<\/sup> place OVERALL\nin Saturday\u2019s 8 Hour Enduro. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joe Nonnamaker shares his thoughts returning to Daytona \u2013\n\u201cThis track is one of the historic tracks in America.  Everyone knows\nabout the ROLEX 24 Hours.  We were fortunate to compete in that legendary\nevent a total of 10 times.  The 14 Hour event this weekend is the second\nlongest endurance event that is held at Daytona each year. And the experiences\nwe learned from those ROLEX races will assist us in the challenge of this\nevent.  I love driving Daytona.  You have the unique dynamic of the\ntwisty infield, the flat out banking and the very swift flowing bus stop on the\nback straight.  This should be a lot of fun and I am looking forward to\nthe challenge.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 14 Hour enduro will take the green flag at 8 am on\nSaturday \u2013 April 6th<\/sup>.  The checkered will wave at 10 pm that\nevening, in the dark, with the track lights showing the way till the end. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
