This victory was\nin the rain soaked Saturday 8 Hour Enduro at Road America in the Tire Rack \u2013\nChampCar Endurance Series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Friday was a Test Day at the beautiful Wisconsin track.&nbsp; Team Sahlen tested all three Porsche Boxsters\n&#8211; #941 \u201cChili, #942 \u201cKetchup\u201d &amp; #943 \u201cMustard\u201d.&nbsp; Having three race cars on track kept the crew\nvery busy all day.&nbsp; The benefit of this allowed\nall 4 drivers to get plenty of seat time in preparation for the weekend\u2019s long\nendurance events.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"616\" src=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/RA-2023-g-1024x616.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6968\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/RA-2023-g-1024x616.png 1024w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/RA-2023-g-300x181.png 300w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/RA-2023-g-768x462.png 768w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/RA-2023-g.png 1469w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Saturday dawned with Rain.&nbsp;\nThis placed all 60+ racers on high alert, as the race would start with at\n8:30 am in the cold, with a wet track with more and more rain coming down by\nthe minute.&nbsp; The Team Sahlen racers took\ntheir time in the early stages of the race, and rose up into the Top 5 Overall\nat the midpoint in the race.&nbsp; As the race\nneared the last hour of the race, Team Sahlen\u2019s #943 \u201cMustard\u201d was in 6<sup>th<\/sup>\nplace \u2013 2 laps down.&nbsp; Then the rain\nstarted to come down harder and harder.&nbsp; And\nas the conditions became more treacherous, the #943 moved further and further forward\nin the field. Then with 3 laps to go, \u201cMustard\u201d passed for the overall\nlead.&nbsp; The checkered flag flew, and Team\nSahlen secured the OVERALL win.&nbsp; This was\nTeam Sahlen\u2019s 6<sup>th<\/sup> consecutive victory in a row in the Tire Rack \u2013\nChampCar Endurance Series.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"620\" src=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/RA-2023-f-1024x620.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6967\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/RA-2023-f-1024x620.png 1024w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/RA-2023-f-300x182.png 300w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/RA-2023-f-768x465.png 768w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/RA-2023-f.png 1477w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Wayne Nonnamaker shared how the end of the race went \u2013 <em>\u201cThose\nwere some of the worst conditions I have driven in.&nbsp; I am not sure how I even kept the car on track\nsome of those laps.&nbsp; But the end goal of\nOVERALL Victory was just sitting out there to be had, and I had to keep pressing\non to hopefully real in the cars in front of us. Wow to have won 6 races in a row\nis a feat that I don\u2019t believe our team has ever accomplished before. This led to a sketchy track as the\nracers took the green flag.&nbsp; Soon a wreck\ninto turn one led to a full course caution.&nbsp;\nAs the cars went back to green though, the skies parted, and the sun\ncame out. The track slowly dried, and the Team Sahlen racers slowly moved up\nthe pack.&nbsp; As the race move forward through\nthe midday into the final hour of the 7 hour race, the #943 \u201cMustard\u201d was again\non the charge, rising up from 5<sup>th<\/sup> place to pass 2<sup>nd<\/sup> place\nwith just 20 minutes to go in the race.&nbsp;\nThe event marked the 1<sup>st<\/sup> race ever for the team with the #941\n\u201cChili\u201d.&nbsp; The Porsche Boxster had been\nutilized as a test and practice car, but on Sunday it ran the full race,\nsecuring a very solid 6<sup>th<\/sup> Place overall after an unscheduled pit\nstop at the start of the race dropped the Boxster down the order by 2\nlaps.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"612\" src=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/RA-2023-e-1024x612.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6966\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/RA-2023-e-1024x612.png 1024w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/RA-2023-e-300x179.png 300w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/RA-2023-e-768x459.png 768w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/RA-2023-e.png 1492w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Joe Sahlen shared his thoughts on \u201cChili\u201d \u2013 <em>\u201cWhat a\nfantastic day today.&nbsp; I couldn\u2019t be\nhappier on how well Chili ran today.&nbsp; The\ncrew did a fantastic job last night prepping the Porsche for today.&nbsp; And Chili ran strong all day, with 6<sup>th<\/sup>\nplace a very good debut race result.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">&nbsp;Team Sahlen\u2019s next race\nwill be the New Year\u2019s Eve event at Sebring International Raceway with the Tire\nRack \u2013 ChampCar Endurance Series.&nbsp; The\ndual 8&amp;7 hour enduros will be on Saturday and Sunday.
