The team was able to secure 1<sup>st<\/sup> and 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\nPlace in Saturday\u2019s 8 hour enduro.&nbsp; Then\nin Sunday\u2019s 7 hour enduro, the team repeated this accomplishment with another\noutstanding 1<sup>st<\/sup> and 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Place Overall.&nbsp; The team has competed in 46 double enduro race\nweekends over the past 9 years of competing within Sportsman Endurance Sports\nCar Racing.&nbsp; And not once in those 46\nweekends has the team been able to string together a double 1<sup>st<\/sup>\n&amp; <em>\u201cWinning\nOVERALL in these long enduros is hard enough.&nbsp;\nSecuring 1<sup>st<\/sup> and 2<sup>nd<\/sup> is really amazing.&nbsp; And to then be able to pull off that result 2\ndays in a row is just about impossible.&nbsp;\nAnd the fact that it took us 46 tries is just testament to the difficulty\nof this achievement.&nbsp; Team Sahlen had #941 \u201cChili, #942 \u201cKetchup\u201d\nand #943 \u201cMustard\u201d on track for test and tuning.&nbsp; The morning session was utilized mainly for\nshake down of the cars as a very damp track caused for very slippery\nconditions.&nbsp; Team Sahlen drew a starting slot of 49<sup>th<\/sup>\nand 50<sup>th<\/sup>.&nbsp; This made for a\nchallenging start to the race to get to the front.&nbsp; The starting drivers of Joe Sahlen and Wayne\nNonnamaker methodically worked their way through the pack, and found themselves\nin 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and 6<sup>th<\/sup> after the 90 minute mark.&nbsp; As race rolled along, the Sahlen racers continued\nto lay down quick laps and the crew continued to have solid pit stops.&nbsp; This resulted in Team Sahlen positioned in 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\nand 4<sup>th<\/sup> place with 1 hour to go in the 8 hour event. &nbsp;As the minutes ticked off, Joe Sahlen and\nWayne Nonnamaker continued to wind in the competition.&nbsp; Our #942 \u201cKetchup\u201d ran flawlessly all\nday.&nbsp; Will and I had a perfect day, with\nno missteps, and that was absolutely necessary when the victory to third was\nonly 2 seconds. As well, we were very fortunate to each of our pit stops to be\ncompleted under Code35, which really assisted minimizing our time off track.&nbsp; And this was all beneficial as it was such a\nclose result after 8 hours of racing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"715\" src=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/wayne-car-2-1024x715.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6076\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/wayne-car-2-1024x715.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/wayne-car-2-300x209.jpg 300w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/wayne-car-2-768x536.jpg 768w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/wayne-car-2-1536x1072.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/wayne-car-2.jpg 1827w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Sunday\ndawned with continued Blue Skies.&nbsp; And\nwith a reverse starting order to Saturday, Team Sahlen rolled of the grid in 8<sup>th<\/sup>\nand 9<sup>th<\/sup> place.&nbsp; This position\nwas very beneficial to \u201cKetchup\u201d, as the 1 lap penalty for winning the day\nbefore meant that Joe &amp; Will had to make up a full 100 seconds on track to\nget to the lead.&nbsp; At the 2 hour mark, Joe\nNonnamaker and Joe Sahlen handed over the Porsche Boxsters to brothers Will and\nWayne in 4<sup>th<\/sup> and 8<sup>th<\/sup> place.&nbsp; Wayne and Will continued the trend and moved\nup to 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and 3<sup>rd<\/sup> place.&nbsp;\nThen on the penultimate pit stop, a Red Flag all came out.&nbsp; This lucky timing saw the team minimize their\ntime in the pits, thus jumping their competition.&nbsp; As the minutes wound down, the team\u2019s main competitor\nwas working to stretch their fuel tank to skip a pit stop.&nbsp; Then with 15 minutes to go, their fuel ran\nout and Team Sahlen was able to persevere for the double 1<sup>st<\/sup> and 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\nplace in 2 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"704\" src=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/376735263_805509631580005_4373754266740634699_n-v2-1024x704.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6077\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/376735263_805509631580005_4373754266740634699_n-v2-1024x704.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/376735263_805509631580005_4373754266740634699_n-v2-300x206.jpg 300w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/376735263_805509631580005_4373754266740634699_n-v2-768x528.jpg 768w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/376735263_805509631580005_4373754266740634699_n-v2-1536x1056.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/376735263_805509631580005_4373754266740634699_n-v2.jpg 2037w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Team Sahlen\u2019s next event will be on September 30<sup>th<\/sup> \u2013 October 1<sup>st<\/sup> in the Beaver River Grand Prix at PittRace in the Tire Rack \u2013 ChampCar Endurance Series.
