The last time the team raced at Daytona was 2016.\u00a0 This 2016 event was that year\u2019s edition of the ChampCar 14 hour enduro.\u00a0 At that race, there were 128 starters.\u00a0 Team Sahlen had entered their #141 \u201cCharcoal\u201d, #242 \u201cKetchup\u201d and #243 \u201cMustard\u201d Mazda RX7s.\u00a0 Torrential Rain saw the race run under difficult conditions, with Team Sahlen facing many obstacles throughout the race. Eventually the team secured 33<sup>rd<\/sup> overall after 14 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"499\" height=\"333\" src=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/day1st.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5344\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/day1st.jpg 499w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/day1st-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 499px) 100vw, 499px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Team Sahlen has competed in three additional 14 hour Tire Rack \u2013 ChampCar Endurance Series events: Nelson Ledges 2013 &#8211; 5<sup>th<\/sup>, Pittsburgh 2015 \u2013 5<sup>th<\/sup>, 9<sup>th<\/sup> &amp; 13<sup>th<\/sup>, Sebring 2020 \u2013 2<sup>nd<\/sup> &amp; 3<sup>rd<\/sup><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/daytona2003.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5345\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/daytona2003.jpg 500w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/daytona2003-300x180.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Drivers for this weekend\u2019s event will be Joe Sahlen, Joe Nonnamaker, Wayne Nonnamaker &amp; Will Nonnamaker. The team will be racing their #942 \u201cKetchup\u201d &amp; #943 \u201cMustard\u201d ECS Tuning Porsche Boxsters.\u00a0 The last event of 2022 for Team Sahlen was the Tire Rack \u2013 ChampCar Endurance Series 7 hour enduro at Pitt Race, presented by MoneyShiftRacing.com.\u00a0 In this event Team Sahlen was able have a dream event, securing 1<sup>st<\/sup> and 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Overall as well as 1<sup>st<\/sup> in both the EC and C Classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"775\" height=\"538\" src=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/JoeBilldaytona.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5341\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/JoeBilldaytona.jpg 775w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/JoeBilldaytona-300x208.jpg 300w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/JoeBilldaytona-768x533.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 775px) 100vw, 775px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Joe Nonnamaker shares his thoughts returning to Daytona \u2013 \u201cThis track is one of the historic tracks in America.\u00a0 Everyone knows about the ROLEX 24 Hours.\u00a0 We were fortunate to compete in that legendary event a total of 10 times.\u00a0 The 14 Hour event this weekend is the second longest endurance event that is held at Daytona each year.
