2022 marked the 7<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary that Sahlen\u2019s has sponsored the event.&nbsp; Team Sahlen entered the weekend as the returning victors in last year\u2019s event, having won OVERALL in both Saturday and Sunday\u2019s 8 Hour Enduros.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"http:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_7620-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3507\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_7620-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_7620-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_7620-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_7620.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Friday was a morning practice session followed up by qualifying in the afternoon.&nbsp; Team Sahlen used the early practice to get up to speed, with #41 \u201cChili, #42 \u201cPepper\u201d and #43 \u201cSalt\u201d all turning laps on track.&nbsp; As the lunch break occurred, Team Sahlen sensed a great opportunity for qualifying, so the crew lined up the Porsche Caymans 1<sup>st<\/sup> and 2<sup>nd<\/sup> on the grid in anticipation of being the 1<sup>st<\/sup> ones out on the track.&nbsp; This would be crucial, as open track would be difficult to come by with 70+ cars entered for the race.&nbsp; Wayne and Will Nonnamaker did not disappoint in their initial laps of qualifying, placing \u201cPepper\u201d and \u201cSalt\u201d 1<sup>st<\/sup> in Class A &amp; Class 4 respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5679-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3442\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5679-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5679-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5679-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5679-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5679-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Saturday dawned with a dry track, with a bit of overcast clouds keeping the conditions cool for drivers and crew.&nbsp; Starting Drivers Wayne Nonnamaker and Joe Sahlen were able to lay down some very solid fast laps right away and establish a solid lead in both Class A and Class 4.&nbsp; As the race evolved, Team Sahlen continued to battle hard on track against some very good competition.&nbsp; Great pit strategy saw both \u201cSalt\u201d and \u201cPepper\u201d running 1<sup>st<\/sup> and 2<sup>nd<\/sup> OVERALL.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; A slight electrical glitch at the 6<sup>th<\/sup> hour saw \u201cPepper\u201d go behind the wall for repairs.&nbsp; \u201cSalt\u201d though took up the reins of the charge for Team Sahlen and dutifully led the entire field home in 1<sup>st<\/sup> place OVERALL and 1<sup>st<\/sup> place in Class 4.&nbsp; \u201cPepper\u201d returned to the track to secure 3<sup>rd<\/sup> in Class A and setting Fastest Race Lap in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_7627-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3513\" width=\"574\" height=\"382\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_7627-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_7627-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_7627-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/teamsahlen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_7627.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 574px) 100vw, 574px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Will Nonnamaker shared his thoughts after the race &#8211; \u201cWhat an amazing job by the crew today.&nbsp; They called excellent strategy and executed flawless pit stops.&nbsp; That put us in a comfortable position to be at the front of the back.&nbsp; And then Joe Sahlen drove some amazing stints to put us in the lead.&nbsp; Just like Satuday\u2019s 8 hour enduro, both Wayne Nonnamaker and Joe Sahlen laid down some solid laps to march to the front of the field to lead Class A and Class 4 respectively.&nbsp; The electronic issue with \u201cPepper\u201d from Saturday arose again.&nbsp; The Team Sahlen pit crew worked feverously to resolve the issue, only loosing 2 laps on track fixing the issue.&nbsp; Back on track, Joe &amp; Wayne Nonnamaker put their heads down for the next 6 hours to regain spots.&nbsp; Some smart strategy and some unfortunate luck for the competition saw \u201cPepper\u201d continue to move up the order.&nbsp; Until the checkered flag flew, with #42 \u201cPepper\u201d securing 2<sup>nd<\/sup> OVERALL and 1<sup>st<\/sup> in Class A.&nbsp; The only car ahead was the #43 \u201cSalt\u201d ECS Tuning Porsche Cayman. &nbsp;And to top it off, both cars secured the Fastest Race Lap of the day for their classes.
