Team\nSahlen, presented by honeybeeBase.com, returns to Watkins Glen International after\na 1 year hiatus from the Upstate New York track due to COVID restrictions.  Sahlen\u2019s is especially excited as the event\nsees the return of the Sahlen\u2019s Sports Car Springfest at the Glen with the Summit\nRacing \u2013 American Endurance Racing series. \n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last\ntime Team Sahlen competed at the Glen with the Summit Racing \u2013 American Endurance\nRacing series, the team was able to secure an amazing 1st<\/sup> and 2nd<\/sup>\nOVERALL in the Saturday 9.5 hour enduro with their Porsche Caymans.  For this year\u2019s event, Team Sahlen will again\nbe entering 2 racers to take to the track. This time though, Team Sahlen will\nbe entering their #43 \u201cRetro\u201d Audi R8 GT3 Ultra as the main point of attack for\nthe OVERALL Victory.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the inaugural\nevent of the 2021 the Summit Racing \u2013 American Endurance Racing season at\nPittsburgh International Race Complex, the #43 \u201cRetro\u201d Audi was able to lead a\nmajority of the laps in both Saturday and Sunday\u2019s events, with unfortunate\nmechanical luck denying the team the opportunity to contest for the top\nspot.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will Nonnamaker\nshared his thoughts after the 1st<\/sup> event of the year \u2013 \u201cWe had a\ngreat time at our 1st<\/sup> event of the year.  As always we had fun racing in the series and\nwe were happy to be competitive, leading in both Class 5 and 4 during the\nweekend.  We had some unfortunate mechanical\nluck that put us behind the 8 ball. \nHopefully we will be able to have a clean event at Watkins Glen and be\nable to contest for the victory in both Saturday and Sunday\u2019s 8 Hour Enduros.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drivers\nfor Team Sahlen this weekend will be Joe Sahlen, Joe Nonnamaker, Wayne Nonnamaker\nand Will Nonnamaker.  The Team will be\nentering their #43 \u201cRetro\u201d Audi R8 GT3 Ultra. \nAs well, the team will bring back out their #42 \u201cPepper\u201d Porsche Cayman\nthat was tested on Friday at Pittsburgh.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joe Nonnamaker\nshared his excitement for getting \u201cPepper\u201d back on track \u2013 \u201cPittsburgh was a\nshake down for Pepper after being retired for 2 seasons.  There were a few things to work through, a\nnow we ready roll out Pepper for race weekend and see how the Cayman runs for\n16 hours of racing\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nweekend activities start on Friday \u2013 May 7th<\/sup> with official Practice\nand Qualifying.  Then at 9 am Saturday,\nthe 8 Hour Enduro will start.  Then on\nSunday, the 2nd<\/sup> of the 8 Hour Enduros will begin at 9 am as well.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
