Team Sahlen,\npresented by honeybeeBase.com will be entering their 1st<\/sup> Tire Rack \u2013\nChampCar Endurance Series event of 2020. \nThe event will be the Money Shift \u2013 Pittsburgh Grand Prix at the Pittsburgh\nInternational Race Complex. Due to the unfortunate crisis of COVID-19, much of Team\nSahlen\u2019s race season has been in flux, which has included getting to race with\nthe ChampCar series.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team\nSahlen\u2019s  1st<\/sup> and only event\nto date for the season was in June at the Summit Racing \u2013 American Endurance\nRacing held at Nelson Ledges Road Course. \nIt had been 6 months since the team had last raced at Sebring in\nDecember of 2019.  The long lay off say\nthe crew and drivers knocking off the rust after break.  After a full day of testing on Friday,\neveryone was ready for Saturday\u2019s 4 hour enduro, where the team secured a 1st<\/sup>\nand 2nd<\/sup> OVERALL.  Then the\nteam followed up with a very solid 2nd<\/sup> and 3rd<\/sup> OVERALL in\nSunday\u2019s 9 hour enduro.    <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Drivers for this weekend\u2019s race will be Joe Sahlen, Joseph Sahlen, Jacob Grimm, Joe Nonnamaker, Wayne Nonnamaker and Will Nonnamaker.\u00a0 They the team\u2019s #941 “Charcoal” Mazda RX7, #942 “Ketchup” Porsche Boxster and #943 “Mustard” Porsche Boxster. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joe Sahlen\nshared his thoughts on driving the Boxster again \u2013 \u201cI am excited to be\ngetting back behind the wheel of the Boxster again this weekend.  When we were at Nelson Ledges in June, I had\na few hot laps in \u201cMustard\u201d on the test day. \nThat was enough of a teaser to remind me how much fun this car is to\ndrive.  We came so very close to winning\nhere last year, securing 2nd<\/sup> and 3rd<\/sup> on Sunday.  Hopefully we will have a little bit of luck\non our side, and we can contend again for the top step on the podium.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will Nonnamaker\nshared his thoughts leading into the weekend \n– \u201cWe are excited to be racing again at Pittsburgh International Race\nComplex.  This is such a fantastic track\nto race on.  It has a great ebb and flow\nto each lap.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team Sahlen is\nalso excited to bring the newly enhanced \u201cCharcoal\u201dMazda Rx7 back to the\ntrack.  Over the off season, \u201cCharcoal\u201d\nwent on a massive diet and had some fancy aero bits added.  All efforts to assist this racer, that is one\nof the longest tenured in the series, to continue to be competitive and race in\nthe Top 10 of the Tire Rack ChampCar Endurance Series.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
