The 1^st ¼ of the 2014 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge race season has now been completed.  For Team Sahlen this means an opportunity to put the frustrations of a new car development behind them and look towards the summer months of 2014 as a chance to go out and stretch their legs in the highly competitive ST class.

Team Manager Jay Chapman shared his thoughts - “Whenever you roll out a new car, you expect some teething issues.  And as well, we have had some very good runs derailed by forces not of our own doing.  This has included a GS car in our pits, and being punted into a wreck.  But all we can do is look forward now to the summer months, and taking each race as it comes.”

For Team Sahlen, this will not be their 1^st time to Kansas Speedway.   But most certainly, the track will take on a different look than it did last year, when the team was racing their Daytona Prototypes. 

“I enjoyed driving here last year.  I felt very comfortable on this track.  In fact, the #43 Prototype with Dad and myself actually led at one point late in the race.  I have always seemed to do well on rovals. So hopefully this will be a good weekend for us heading into summer.” – shared driver Will Nonnamaker

Drivers for the #42 racer will be Wayne and Will Nonnamaker.  And in the #43 entry will be driven by the Joe Sahlen and Joe Nonnamaker.   For the drivers, this will be a unique race weekend.  The 1^st practice is on Friday afternoon at 3:30 pm, with Qualifying that night.  Then all day Saturday is free until the evening, when the race is run at 7 pm.
