For some Grand American teams, the ROLEX 24 Hours at Daytona is their biggest event of the year.  As soon as the next year’s schedule comes out , the teams are circling the ROLEX event on their calendar.  But for Team Sahlen, the event they circle every year is the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen.  With Sahlen’s sponsoring the event for over 10 years and Team Sahlen proudly carrying Sahlen branding on the sides of their race cars for over 8 years, a fine showing at this race is one that puts a smile on all the Western New York fans of Sahlen Hot Dogs.

This year marks the 32^nd running of the 6 hour event at Watkins Glen International.  This makes the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen one of the longest standing Endurance Sport Car Events in the world.  This includes such historic Sports Car events as the ROLEX 24 at Daytona, Sebring 12 Hours, LeMans 24 Hours, Silverstone 6 hours, Spa 24 Hours, Nurburging 24 and the Bathhurst 24.   In fact, the Sahlen’s 6 Hours of the Glen is a part of Grand American’s North American Endurance Championship that consists of the ROLEX 24 at Daytona and the 3 hour event held at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  With the combining of the Grand American ROLEX and American LeMans Series in 2014 into the United Sports Car Series, this list of Long Endurance events in this Championship will expand to most likely include the Sebring 12 Hours and the Road Atlanta Petit LeMans.

Dane Cameron added his thoughts leading up to the weekend - “I think everyone at team Sahlen's is really excited for our first Sahlen's 6 Hours of the Glen in Daytona Prototypes. I am also very excited to have Mark Wilkins join Wayne and I this weekend in the #42. I think we have a very solid line up that can challenge for the podium, I can't wait!” – shared Dane Cameron

Team Sahlen currently is in 8^th and 12^th in the Team Championship in the 1^st year for entering the Daytona Prototype Class.  Additionally Wayne Nonnamaker retains his lead in the Jim Trueman Sportsman Standings over Alex Popow. Will & Joe Nonnamaker continue to hold down 3^rd and 4^th in the standings respectively. 

The Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen held on June 30^th, starting at 11 am.  Five of the Six hours of the race will be televised live on SPEED TV.
