The Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 will crown its 2009 champions at a new location, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., on Monday, Oct. 12, 2009.

The Grand-Am Rolex Series will conclude its 12-race 2009 campaign with the Oct. 10 running of the Grand Prix of Miami at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The season finale on the 2.21-mile road circuit will start at 1 p.m. ET and will be televised live on SPEED.

Monday's Champions Banquet will begin with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m. and will be followed by a sit-down dinner and awards program which will honor the top drivers, teams and manufacturers in the Daytona Prototype and GT classes. Fans will also be invited to purchase tickets for the event.

"We have had an enjoyable and successful run holding our post-season festivities in Las Vegas," said Grand-Am president Roger Edmondson. "With our 2009 season ending in Miami, it makes sense logistically to hold the awards ceremony in South Florida, and we feel the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is an outstanding location. We're confident the soiree will be a memorable one."

About Grand-Am Road Racing:

Founded in 1999, Grand-Am operates several racing divisions headlined by the premier Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16. In 2008 NASCAR Holdings purchased Grand-Am Road Racing and it continues to be the premier sports car racing under the NASCAR umbrella. The 12-event schedule is anchored by the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona.

Since its inception, Grand-Am has helped stabilize the American sports car scene. Its rise has included a rebirth of the successful Rolex 24 event, which has seen tremendous growth since coming under the Grand-Am umbrella in 2000. A variety of drivers from other racing disciplines, including NASCAR stars such as Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, Kyle Petty, Bobby Labonte, Juan Pablo Montoya, Kurt Busch and Jeff Gordon, have aided in the growth of Grand-Am's popularity. Prominent NASCAR team owners Chip Ganassi, Roger Penske and Richard Childress also field Grand-Am operations.
