Posted (05/21/2008) - Watkins Glen, NY (May 20, 2008) - Watkins Glen International will kick-off the 2008 edition of their live driver chat series on the WGI Fan Talk Forum on Wednesday, May 21st. Veteran driver Will Nonnamaker and driver/owner Joe Sahlen will be the featured guests this week and will be available to fans 7:30 PM - 8:00 PM. This chat will be the first of three live chats leading up to the Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen, June 6-8.
The live chats are open to all race fans that are registered on the WGI Fan Talk Forum. All fans will need to do in order to participate is log into the fan forum and click on the link that appears following a successful login. Not registered yet? Simply log-on to the WGI Fan Talk Forum (www.TheGlen.com/forum), fill out the registration form and you are ready to post!

Each live chat will last 30-minutes and be held every Wednesday at 7:30 PM leading up to the Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen. Following the Nonnamaker and Sahlen chat, the schedule for the remaining live chats is as follows:
  • Wednesday, May 28th - NASCAR Camping World Series driver and former motocross/supercross star Ricky Carmichael and his Ken Schrader Racing teammate Jaime Hayes
  • Wednesday, June 4th - Soon to be announced driver from the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series

    Will Nonnamaker has a professional resume boasting three championships, 15 wins, 38 podiums and four poles. All three of his Grand-Am championships have come in the formerly named Grand-Am Cup Series, now the Grand-Am KONI Challenge Series. In 2005, he claimed the inaugural Rolex Series Bob Akin award with eight top-10 finishes. This year, Nonnamaker is competing in both the Rolex Series and KONI Challenge Series with Team Sahlen.

    Joe Sahlen is the driver/sponsor of Team Sahlen. He owns Sahlen Packing Co., Inc., a triple sponsor in Grand American Road Racing that includes Team Sahlen, the Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen, and Grand American's Sahlen's Paddock Club. Sahlen began his professional racing career in 2005 on the formerly named Grand-Am Cup Series.

    Tickets for the historic 60th Anniversary Season at Watkins Glen International are on-sale now! The season kicks-off in just over two weeks with the Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, June 6-7 paired with the NASCAR Camping World Series' East Division on Sunday, June 8. General admission tickets for Kids 12 and under are FREE during the June 6-8 and July 4-6 event weekends when accompanied by an adult. Open-wheel racing returns for the 4th of July weekend during the Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen, July 4-6, and the Centurion Boats at The Glen NASCAR Sprint Cup and Zippo 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series weekend highlights the summer action, August 7-10.
