< Back to News Home Team Sahlen to run all 3 Grand American races at Lime Rock Park

Posted (05/22/2007) - For the 2nd straight year, Team Sahlen will entering all three Grand American events at the Memorial Day weekend event at Lime Rock Park.

The 1st of the 3 races will be the KONI Challenge Series Street Tuner event held on Saturday at 2:15 pm. Team Sahlen will be entering Joe Sahlen and Will Nonnamaker in the #03 HRPWorld.com Dodge SRT-4. The duo has a great run in the Dodge' last outing at Iowa Speedway. Running as high as 4th, and finally settling into a 10th place finish in the highly competitive ST class.

"Lime Rock Park should suit the strengths of the Dodge. Joe and I are looking forward to the race. We enjoy the role of dark horse in the ST class. Our goal is to secure at Top 5 finish with the Dodge, and Lime Rock could just be the track it happens."

As is a tradition at Lime Rock Park, no racing will occur on Sunday. But racing action will resume come Monday - Memorial Day. Starting early at 10 am, Team Sahlen will be rolling out the #04 HRPWorld.cm Porsche 911 for the KONI Challenge Grand Sports race. After his great drive at the Daytona opener, Joe Masessa returns to Team Sahlen for more race action. At Lime Rock Park, Joe will be teamed with Wayne Nonnamaker, the 2003 GS Class Champion.

"The race action will be very exciting. With 41 GS class cars on the short 1 1/2 mile track, there will always be someone you are racing with. Joe did a great job at Daytona, getting as high as 9th place and finishing a very respectable 22nd out of 59 GS class cars."

The weekend feature event at Lime Rock Park will be the ROLEX GT event held at 1:45 pm. For this event, Team Sahlen will be entering their #42 & #43 HRPWorld.com Corvettes. Driving #42 will be Joe Sahlen and Will Nonnamaker. In the #43 HRPWorld.com Corvette will be the father & son duo of Joe & Wayne Nonnamaker. Team Sahlen will also enter their #41 Pontaic GTO for the race weekend to gain valuable track time experience".

"Having raced at Laguna Seca in California the weekend before, the back to back weekends will require extra effort on the Team Sahlen crew to ensure the everything is ready for Lime Rock. And to top it off, we will be running in all three Grand American races. I am confident that as a team we can accomplish great things on the Memorial Day weekend event."

The ROLEX Sports Car Series GT race at Lime Rock Park will be same day tape delayed at 3 pm on SPEED Channel.

The KONI Challenge Series GS race at Lime Rock Park will be tape delayed on June 10th at 3 pm on SPEED Channel.
