Team Sahlen Credits 11th Place Finish with Track Time

Posted (06/02/2006) - Joe Sahlen and Will Nonnamaker led the Team Sahlen No. 41 Grand Touring (GT) class effort this weekend in Lime Rock Park. This was the first time Sahlen and Nonnamaker joined as co-drivers in the GT class for the year. The duo moved the car up four positions during the Memorial Day race to finish in 11th place. Nonnamaker and Sahlen spent a lot of time on track during the Lime Rock Park weekend. The duo spent time in the team's GT car but also gained track time in the team's Grand-Am Cup Grand Sport and Street Tuner class efforts. Nonnamaker credits their 11th place finish to this extended amount of track time. "Joe and I were able to gain a lot of time on the track which helped us both out in the GT race. Because of the weather a lot of teams were not at the advantage we were as far as track time goes. Competing in all three races really benefited us this weekend," stated Nonnamaker. Team Sahlen will head to Watkins Glen, New York for the Sahlen's Six Hours at Watkins Glen International. The race begins at 2:30 PM EST. Team Sahlen joins the Grand American Rolex series with support from HRPWorld.com, GOJO, TheRaceSite.com, TheRaceMarket.com, Kempthorn Auto Mall, Racetech, and Grassroots Motorsports. |
