Team Sahlen Spends Time at VIR In Mid-March

Posted (04/05/2006) - Team Sahlen packed up three of their eight cars and headed to VIRginia International Raceway on March 16th. The team participated in a testing session preparing them for their next Grand-Am Cup race to be held at the Alton, Virginia course. The team is looking forward to adjustments made throughout the session and the added in-car experience each driver received during the day. Team Sahlen owner and driver Will Nonnamaker believes this trip to VIR will pay off come the April 22nd race. "Anyone will tell you the more track time, the better. We were happy to give our drivers time behind the wheel with no pressure. Just getting out there and getting to really spend some time in the car. It was worth it on everyone's account, we were so pleased to have our drivers involved in this test session," stated Nonnamaker. Team Sahlen tested two of the Grand Sport Porsches and their Street Tuner class Dodge SRT-4. The race held at the end of the month is one of two Grand-Am Cup races to be held at the track. The second VIR race will be a twelve hour in the month of October. In 2005, drivers Joe and Wayne Nonnamaker took 5th place in a Team Sahlen Porsche for Grand Sport class at Virginia Team Sahlen enters the 2006 season with support from HRPWorld.com, GOJO, Kempthorn AutoMall, TheRaceSite.com, TheRaceMarket.com, Racetech, and Grassroots Motorsports. |
