Posted (03/03/2006) - Team Sahlen's eleventh win at Daytona International Speedway is set to air on tape delay Saturday, March 4th at 11:30 AM EST on SPEED. The Grand-Am Cup season opener was held Friday, January 27th, 2006. Watch as Team Sahlen's young driving ace, Eric Lux and co-driver, Charles Espenlaub beat out top Grand-Am Cup competitors to take the checkered flag.

This race is Team Sahlen's eleventh trip to victory lane at the World Center of Motorsports. The team, owned by the Nonnamaker family, made single appearances in winner's circle during 1997, 1998, 2001, 2002, and 2003. During the 2004 season Team Sahlen won twice at the track and in 1996 an amazing three wins at Daytona were added to Team Sahlen's tally of wins.

"Daytona has been a very good track for us and often forecasted a strong season altogether. During 2003 and 2004 we won championships, hopefully with the right amount of effort, history will repeat. Eric and Charles had an excellent race" stated driver, Will Nonnamaker.

The most recent Team Sahlen win at Daytona was an excellent start for the team which won two back-to-back championships in 2003 and 2004. The Porsche based effort competes in the Grand Sport (GS) class of the Grand-Am Cup. Last year the team added a Dodge SRT to their armory to compete in the Street Tuner (ST) class as well.

"Among the 88 entries in this year's Daytona race, five were Team Sahlen cars. Five cars in a race is a feat unto itself, our crew and drivers did an excellent job to make sure that Team Sahlen not only finished the race but finished first," added Nonnamaker.

Team Sahlen is based out of North Canton, Ohio and competes not only in the Grand-Am Cup but the Grand American Rolex series as well. The team boasts a outstanding list of drivers which includes, Eric Lux and Charles Espenlaub. Lux who hails from the Buffalo, New York area is one of two Buffalo area drivers. Joe Sahlen, owner of Buffalo based Sahlen's Packing Co. Inc. co-drives with Will Nonnamaker. Nonnamaker's father, Joe, and brother, Wayne, are also listed on the Team Sahlen roster.
