Posted (01/11/2006) - Never Too Young to Be Proud was the title of an article in a recent Hoosier Tire newsletter. Young Ian Nonnamaker, son of Holly and Will Nonnamaker, was caught cleaning the tire of a Team Sahlen Grand Touring Porsche. Paula Nate, of Hoosier Racing Tire Public Relations Department immediately began snapping pictures as the two-year-old proudly cleaned the "family car" and Hoosier tire.

Never Too Young To Be Proud

Ian Nonnamaker, grandson of Joseph Nonnamaker, owner of the Team Sahlen
#41 and #43 Porsche GT3 Cup cars in the Grand American Rolex series, shows his pride in a job well done. At Watkins Glen on August 12, 2005, I ran across little Ian cleaning the Hoosier racing tires on his grandpa's car, believing looking good is half the battle.

Sahlen Packing Company was founded in 1869 in Buffalo, New York as a family business. Company founder Joseph Sahlen dedicated himself to one guiding principle: only the freshest and highest quality meat products would bear the proud Sahlen name. Kinda like the Hoosier racing tires, only the best, "Tires Designed For Champions."

Since its beginning, Sahlen's has dedicated itself to providing the freshest and highest quality meat products using secret family recipes passed down through five generations. Sahlen's hotdogs are a long-time favorite in Western New York with their unique, smokehouse flavor, and their "Old Fashioned" Smokehouse Ham and Turkey Breast are now offered in more than 15 states.

The Sahlen's Paddock Club is a service provided by Grand American to its competitors and corporate members at each of the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series and Grand-Am Cup Series events. The Sahlen's Paddock Club allows members a place to sit down, congregate with fellow competitors, and get a freshly prepared meal that features Sahlen's meat products.

As for racing so far this season, the Sahlen's #43 car is in 5th place in the GT division. In eight races they have finished near the top of the pack each time. The Sahlen's #41 car is in 11th place in the GT division. In eight races they have finished in the upper half of all cars each time.

Hoosier Racing Tire is proud to be the sole race tire provider for the Grand American / Rolex racing series. To learn more about Grand American racing, visit their website at www.grandamerican.com.
