Sahlen' s to Present Phoenix Promotions' 2006 Campaign

Posted (12/20/2005) - Sahlen's returns for a 2nd Year to be the presenter of Phoenix Promotion's eight car effort for the 2006 Grand American Road Racing season. Phoenix Promotions is a North Canton, Ohio based team with eight cars spread among the Grand American Road Racing classes. Three of the team's Porches participate in the Grand Touring (GT) class while the four remaining Porsches compete in the Grand Sport (GS) class. The team's Dodge SRT makes a run at the competition the Sport Touring (ST) class. Both Sahlen's and Phoenix Promotions are excited to continue on the path created just last season. "Working with Sahlen's this past year has been wonderful for our team. It is amazing what we have accomplished with our eight car effort and Sahlen's has been an integral part of that success. The team grew a lot in 2005 and we are looking forward to more growth in 2006 especially with Sahlen's support," stated Will Nonnamaker of Team Sahlen. Team Sahlen and Phoenix Promotions first came together in late 2004. The team originally announced Sahlen's commitment to the Phoenix Promotions Grand-Am Cup effort. Shortly thereafter Sahlen's announced a full partnership with the Phoenix Promotions team and expanded to the team's Grand American Rolex effort for 2005. This was, however, not the first time that Sahlen's had been associated with Grand American Road Racing. Sahlen Packing, Inc. is based out of Buffalo, New York a short drive from where the company first stepped into Grand American Road Racing. In 2003, the premium and quality meat producer sponsored the Sahlen's Six Hour held at Watkins Glen International. Sahlen's also feeds the ever-hungry crew members and drivers that participate each weekend in Grand American Road Racing events. Grand American participants find the "Sahlen's Paddock Club" a comfortable setting for a warm meal during the hectic race weekends. Over the years Sahlen's has discovered what it takes to be the premier hot dog of western New York, and a favorite of hot dog lovers across the country. Opening as a family owned company in 1869, Sahlen's remains family owned to this day. Although most of the company's business is based out of New York, the company has been selling their products such as turkey breast or ham in nearly two dozen states.
