Team Sahlen Heads Back To Barber; Nonnamaker and Sahlen Team Up For First Time at Alabama Track

Posted (07/27/2005) - Team Sahlen will head down to Barber Motorsports Park for their next race in Grand-Am Cup competition. The Nonnamakers will be joined by Joe Sahlen in the black and red Porsche 911's in their first Cup race in over a month. "We are exciting to have our Cup cars back on the track. Our last race was Mosport in mid-June and we are aching to get back in those cars," stated Will Nonnamaker. Will Nonnamaker will be co-driving with Joe Sahlen in their first appearance together at the Barber Motorsports Park. The two have been competing together for the entire season but have yet to ride together on the exciting Barber Motorsports Park track. Joe Nonnamaker and Wayne Nonnamaker will be co-drivers in the Team Sahlen No. 40 car. Wayne Nonnamaker hopes that the team will be able to avoid the racing incidents that have plagued the team throughout the 2005 season. "We have been rather unlucky, getting into some racing incidents on the track this season. Sometimes though, you just can help it. The cars, fortunately, have been great. Our crew has been doing an excellent job of preparing for each race. We are making some great headway on the efficiency of the cars and making some moves to a quicker car. It's great to see and with Barber being such a great track for Porsches, we are looking forward to a great weekend," stated Wayne Nonnamaker. Team Sahlen will compete in the 2005 Grand-Am Cup race at Barber Motorsports Park with support from HRPWorld.com, TheRaceSite.com, Hawk Performance, TheRaceMarket.com, Kempthorn Auto Mall, UNICHIP, Lamin-X, RaceTech, and Grassroots Motorsports. |
