Posted (06/29/2005) - North Canton, Ohio - Team Sahlen is heading to Daytona for one of the most exciting races of the season, the Brumos Porsche 250. With the stands packed with Grand American and NASCAR fans alike, the sports car racing machines and Team Sahlen will put on an excellent show for the Daytona race fans.

The Brumos Porsche 250 will be the opening act for the Winn Dixie 250 and the Pepsi 400. The Pepsi 400 is deemed to be one of the most exciting night races in the NEXTEL Cup series. Fans arriving in town for the Pepsi 400 will have an opportunity on Thursday to see the Rolex Grand American race and cheer on Team Sahlen as they take on the rest of the Grand Touring (GT) class.

Drivers representing Team Sahlen in the No. 43 car for the Brumos Porsche 250 will be brothers Wayne and Will Nonnamaker. Wayne took first place in a solo drive during last year's run at Daytona and hopes that he and Will can use that experience to bring home a win in the GT class.

"I really enjoy this event," commented Wayne. "It is a real treat to get to display a whole new form of racing to the die-hard NASCAR fans. Last year they were enthusiastic about our race and the fans that visited the paddock had a lot of questions for us."

"As far as our competitiveness we have made some definite improvements since our last race here in February. We have implemented a new look to the car that has shown improvements on our lap times. With all the fans that attend this race, it is really amazing. This is an exciting race for our entire team,"

Joining Joe Nonnamaker in the No. 41 car will be Eric Lux. This will be Lux's second race at Daytona with Team Sahlen. He competed during this year's season opener, the Rolex 24 at Daytona, as one of the youngest drivers in competition. He joined the team once again during the Mont Tremblant Six Hours. Lux hails from Buffalo, New York.

"I am excited to go back to a track where we got a top ten finish. I think we can do as well if not better than we did at the first Dayona race this season," stated Lux who had an impressive ninth place finish in his first Rolex 24 Hour race.

Tune into SPEED on Thursday, July 30th at 8:00 pm EST for all the Grand American action and coverage of the Brumos Porsche 250.

Team Sahlen competes in the ROLEX Grand American Series with support from HRPWorld.com, TheRaceSite.com, Rembrandt Charms, TheRaceMarket.com, Kempthorn Auto Mall, UNICHIP, Lamin-X, RaceTech, and Grassroots Motorsports.
