Posted (06/20/2005) - Team Sahlen sponsor, Cole Motorsports, recently took their product over sea to LeMans, France for the 24 Hueres Du Mans race.

The next generation Racing Optics WindshieldStack4TM tear-off system made a big move to Europe the week of June 6th as Robert "Spider Bob" Gravely from Cole Motorsports of Bluefield, West Virginia, the exclusive distributor worldwide for the Racing Optics WindshieldStackTM product, spent a week at the track in LeMans, France. The patented 4 stack product was installed on the windshields of virtually all of the GT cars entered in the world famous 24 Heures Du Mans 2005 race.

The Racing Optics pre-laminated 4 stack tear-off currently used by many of the top teams in the NASCAR Nextel Cup, Busch, and Craftsman series as well as Grand American Rolex series Daytona Prototypes and GT series cars has now made a successful transition into the European racing arena. The product will race on the windshields of all 9 cars entered in the GT1 class, and on 12 of the windshields in the GT2 class. All of the American teams entered including Panoz Motorsports (Panoz Elan), White Lightning Racing (Porsche 911 GT3 RSR), Flying Lizard Motorsports (Porsche 911 GT3 RSR), and Corvette Racing (Corvette C6-R) had the pre-laminated 4 layer product installed on their cars. The product was also installed on the Aston Martin Racing Teams two cars that are racing at Le Mans for the first time since 1989. The product customarily at home on NASCAR race teams will also be riding on Ferrari 550 Marinellos and 360 Modenas as well as Porsche 911 GT3 RSRs, the Spyker C8 Spyder and on the TVR Tuscan 400R.

Cole Motorsports teamed up with their European Distributor Showtrax International from Bletsoe in the United Kingdom to complete the installations on all of these cars. The 4 layer product was custom molded to fit the windshields of these cars prior to final installation.

Racing Optics patented WindshieldStackTM product is made from optical grade polyester film insuring distortion free clear vision of the race track. Each layer is hard coated to prevent damage due to track debris, and can be removed easily with no residue or distortion.

The WindshieldStackTM is available in pre-laminated 2 layer, 4 layer, and 5 layer applications. A single layer WindshieldProtect film is available as well.

Cole Motorsports is located in Bluefield, West Virginia, and also maintains a field support office in Mooresville, North Carolina. Racing Optics is located in San Clemente, California.
