< Back to News Home Team Sahlen Set to Take on the Sahlen Six Hours

Posted (06/07/2005) - North Canton, Ohio - With a line up chosen, and the cars brilliantly prepped Team Sahlen will head to Watkins Glen, New York for the Sahlen's Six Hour race. All three Nonnamakers will be ready to edge out the competition at one of their most favorite road courses. They will add a new driver to their lineup and will join the ROLEX Grand American Grand Sport class with their Porsche GT3 Cup cars.

In the Team Sahlen #43 car will be the Nonnamaker brothers, Will and Wayne. The two have been racing together the majority of the ROLEX season. Will and Wayne tested recently at Mid Ohio to prepare for the Sahlen's Six Hour and feel that test will give them excellent results at Watkins Glen International.

"We have done a lot recently to improve laps times and endurance on our ROLEX cars. Between dyno tests and testing at Mid Ohio, our entire team has been working hard to prepare for this race. I think that we will get some excellent times at the Glen," stated Wayne.

All testing aside, the Nonnamakers have been striving to gain more with their bodywork on their Porsche GT3 Cup cars. The strikingly different design to the bumper, splitter, and rear quarter panels has already given Team Sahlen reason to believe their changes to the car were not in vain.

"We are really pleased with the recent results we have seen on the design of the car. Watkins Glen will be a true test. This will be our third race with the new bodywork and we will have two cars with the design. We have a lot of confidence with the cars and with our team for this race," stated Will Nonnamaker.

In the Team Sahlen #41 car will be Joe Nonnamaker and Keith Fisher. This will be the first time these two will race as co-drivers. Nonnamaker took 3rd during a race last year at Watkins Glen and is looking forward to track time with his new team member.

"Well, we have had a lot to prepare for this race. We have had a lot of support from our partners and are looking to do some great driving this weekend," stated Joe Nonnamaker.

Team Sahlen will run in the Sahlen's Six Hour race at Watkins Glen with support from HRPWorld.com, TheRaceSite.com, Hawk Performance, TheRaceMarket.com, Kempthorn Auto Mall, UNICHIP, Lamin-X, RaceTech, and Grassroots Motorsports.
