Team Sahlen driver, Joe Sahlen, will enter the 2005 Go Kart Challenge during the festivities leading up to the Sahlen Six Hours at Watkins Glen International. Teams, made up of five will include Grand American Road Racing drivers, officials, and sponsors. The hour and a half endurance race will take place Thursday, June 9th at the Seneca Grand Prix in Watkins Glen, New York.
This fun and exciting event will definitely be one of the highlights for Joe Sahlen. Sahlen who has driven in the Go Kart Challenge before, will for the first time drive in the event as a Grand Am Cup driver.
"It's a fun even and the same competitive edge that you will see on Sunday and Saturday will be demonstrated Thursday night at the Go Kart race," state Joe Sahlen.
After the Go Kart racing is over Sahlen will jump behind a much bigger, and much faster machine, the Team Sahlen Porsche 996. Sahlen's co-driver, Will Nonnamaker is excited to see Sahlen take to the Go Kart track.
"Joe has done a great job this year with our cars. Our whole team is ready to cheer him on as he takes on the Go Karts. This event is a lot of fun and a great way to start off the races for the Sahlen's Six Hour Weekend," states Nonnamaker.
Join in the fun at the 2005 Go Kart Challenge at the Seneca Grand Prix Thursday, June 9th. Race begins at 6:30.
Then watch Team Sahlen take on the rest of the Grand American competitors at the Chemung Canal Trust 200 Saturday, June 11 at 2:00 pm and the Sahlen's Six Hour Sunday, June 12th at 10:00 am.
