wmv Crew Chief Mike Thomas Shows Off His Guitar Playing Abilities in the Team's Hotel Suite

Posted (05/25/2005) - Team Sahlen traveled into Canada last weekend for the 6 Heures du Mont Tremblant at Mont Tremblant, Quebec. Dreary and rainy conditions required the team to start the race on rain tires but did not give way for a Grand Touring (GT) class top ten finish for either of the Team Sahlen Porsche GT3 Cup cars.

"As always we had high expectations for the race, but the rain caused a lot of problems for us. Wayne and I's 43 car had moisture leak into the wiring somewhere causing the car to cut out. By the time the wires dried out, we were out of contention. Eric Lux was cut off by a DP and went off track damaging the rear of the car. The car began to leak fluid but Eric was able to make it back into the pits before more damage was done. I think, had there been no rain, we would have been able to avoid this situation," stated Will Nonnamaker.

Nonnamaker co-drove the 6 Heures du Mont Tremblant with his brother, Wayne. In the Team Sahlen No. 43 car, the brothers finished the race in 16th place. Leading up to the Mont Tremblant race the Nonnamaker brothers were fifth in driver point standings. Although this race knocked them out of the top ten they are still hopeful for the season.

"The drivers that are at the top of the GT class right now, Stanton, Murry, and Lally are all excellent drivers. It is a highly competitive field and our goal is to work our way back onto the podium and hopefully win a race before the year is done. Our next race the Sahlen's Six Hours at Watkins Glen, our entire team is getting focused on that race," stated Wayne Nonnamaker

Joe Nonnamaker drove with Eric Lux for the weekend in the Team Sahlen No. 41 car. Lux is a 17 year old driver out of Buffalo, New York.

Team Sahlen was supported this past weekend during the Rolex Grand American 6 Heures du Mont Tremblant by Rembrandt Charms, HRPWorld.com, TheRaceSite.com, Hawk Performance, TheRaceMarket.com, Kempthorn Auto Mall, UNICHIP, Lamin-X, RaceTech, and Grassroots Motorsports.
