Trans Am Driver Ross Thompson to Join MacDonald with Team Sahlen

Posted (04/26/2005) - Salinas, CA - Trans Am driver Ross Thompson and co-driver Steve MacDonald will be joining Team Sahlen in the No. 43 car for the first time this season. Thompson and MacDonald will be sharing seats in this weekend's race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Their first time in the car will be during Friday's practice session but teammate Will Nonnamaker knows that will be plenty of time for Thompson and MacDonald to adjust to the Grand Sport (GS) class Porsche 996s. "They are both experienced drivers and we are looking forward to having them on the team. Ross has driven this track before which will give us some good insight on our strategy for the weekend," stated Will Nonnamaker. Nonnamaker will co-drive with Joe Sahlen for the weekend in the No. 44 car. Sahlen and Nonnamaker shared a top-ten finish during the California Speedway race. Joe Nonnamaker will share a seat with Jim Bosler in the Team Sahlen No. 42 car. Joe will also be sharing time with son, Wayne, in the No. 40 car. Wayne is ready for a productive race weekend. "Our entire team is looking forward to this weekend. Joe and Will had an excellent run in California. Laguna Seca is a great track and we are hoping for an excellent race in the GS class." says Wayne Nonnamaker. Team Sahlen participates in the Grand-Am Cup with support from HRPWorld.com, TheRaceSite.com, Hawk Performance, TheRaceMarket.com, Kempthorn Auto Mall, UNICHIP, Lamin-X, RaceTech, Grassroots Motorsports, and Zipper Interactive. |
