Team Sahlen Aims for Victory in California

Posted (03/29/2005) - Team Sahlen heads to Fontana, California this weekend for a chance at victory during the California 200 at California Speedway. In their first ROLEX race in over a month, the team is anticipating some excellent west coast racing. "We have been working very hard to get the set up right on for this race. There were some things that we had corrected with the cars that worked extremely well for us in the Miami race. Going off of the adjustments we made for specific drivers should mean a good strong race from our team and we are excited to get the cars out on the track," states Crew Chief, Mike Thomas. The Team Sahlen cars will be driven by the members of the Nonnamaker family. The team is based out of Massillon, Ohio and has over the past several years acquired more than their fair share of racing championships. Starting off in the No. 43 car will be the older of the two Nonnamaker brothers, Will. Bringing the car through at the end of the race will be Wayne. The Nonnamaker brothers know what it takes to land on the podium at California Speedway as they proved it in last years Grand-Am Cup season finale. In a hard fought race the Nonnamakers ended the Lexus 250 with a second place finish. "The entire Team Sahlen crew is looking forward to the weekend at California Speedway. I am excited to be in the car with Wayne again. We are both looking forward to this and looking forward to taking a Team Sahlen car to the podium," states Will Nonnamaker. Joe Nonnamaker will be piloting the Team Sahlen No. 41 car with son and co-driver, Will, finishing the race. In 2003, Joe and Will took a top-five spot at California Speedway in ROLEX competition.
