Posted (09/10/2004) - North Canton, Ohio - TheRaceSite.com Racing is currently in 1st and 3rd place in the Grand Am Cup Grand Sport class. Their first place, No. 44 entry, leads the series by over thirty points and their third place No. 43 entry trails the second place team, Schuitemaker Motorsports, by only one point. With the end of the season quickly approaching the upcoming race at Homestead is important.

Driver Wayne Nonnamaker agreed, "The competition is intense right now. The season itself always keeps your blood pressure up but with only four races to go we really have to make sure everything is in place to hold our position. It will be a great race for all the fans to see, with the Grand Sports race a real nail biter."

Returning to the track after a once race hiatus will be Craig Stanton and David Murry. The co-drivers took a break from Grand Am Cup competition at the Mid Ohio Sports Car Classic in early August due to a scheduling conflict with the ALMS. Despite missing an entire race Stanton currently leads the Driver's Championship by seven points. He has won an astonishing four races this season.

Drivers Joe and Wayne Nonnamaker dropped from third to fourth place in driver standings after the Mid Ohio race. Positioned only one point ahead of the Nonnamakers, in third place, is BJ Zacharias and Michiel Schuitemaker.

The team will be bringing a 5th Grand Sport car to the Homestead track. The list of drivers includes: No. 41 - Kris Wilson, and David Riddle, No. 42 - Joe Masessa, and Buddy Stubbs & No. 40 - Jose Chipi and Victor Gonzales, Jr.

TheRaceSite.com's title defending campaign in the Grand-Am Cup GS class is a reality due to the amazing support from HRPworld.com, HAWK Performance, Kempthorn Auto Mall, SpeedSource, SpeedGroup International, TheRaceMarket.com, North Jersey Dermatology Center, Buddy Stubbs' Harley Davidson, Grassroots Motorsports Magazine and 9 Magazine.
