< Back to News Home Joe Masessa - focused on continued success in Porsche

Posted (05/17/2004) - Going into the 2004 season, Joe Masessa decided to take a different approach to his Grand-Am Cup racing. In the past, Joe choose to do several one off events.

"Racing with different teams every weekend was a lot of fun. I got to drive an Audi one weekend, then a Mustang, and then a Porsche another time." States Joe, "But this year I had a different focus, and I wanted to see what would happen if I drove the same car every weekend. So far this year, it has been great, with a Top 10 finish. There are seven events to go, and I know that we can put the #40 in the top 10 and maybe the top 5 several times to come."

For the remainder of 2004, Joe will be teamed with Buddy Stubbs in the SpeedSource Porsche #40.

"I am looking forward to having Buddy Stubbs as my new teammate. We are both former Ferrari Challenge racers. Buddy is about the same size as me, so it should make for very quick driver changes." - states Joe

Joe's racing experience is not just limited to Grand-Am Cup action. At last year's finale, Joe drove a Sports Prototype II racer, finishing in 1st place. In addition, Joe has driven for several years in Northeast Stock Car action at local Short Tracks.

When he is not racing around the country in his #40 Porsche, Joe can be found in his "Clark Kent" guise of Dr. Joe Masessa, Dermatologist for North Jersey Dermatology Center.

The next event of the Grand-Am Cup for Joe Masessa and TheRaceSite.com Racing will be Mont Tremblant on May 22nd

TheRaceSite.com's title defending campaign in the Grand-Am Cup GS class is a reality due to the amazing support from HRPworld.com, HAWK Performance, Kempthorn Auto Mall, SpeedSource, TheRaceMarket.com, K&N Filters, Infinity2, Bob Bondurant Driving Schools, North Jersey Dermatology Center, Buddy Stubbs' Harley Davidson, Grassroots Motorsports Magazine and 9 Magazine.
