Posted (04/21/2004) - The official point standings for the Grand-Am Cup Grand Sports Class came out today. TheRaceSite.com Racing's Team Drivers continue to lead the way with Terry Borcheller & Craig Stanton in 1st & 2nd. Plus, last year's GS driver champions, Joe & Wayne Nonnamaker, are 3rd & 4th place. Plus the team's HRPWorld.com supported #44 & #43 are sitting comfortably in 1st and 2nd in the Team Championship This position in the points is due to the amazing top 5 consistency of the team in the 1st 3 events of the year. In all three races, the #44 and #43 have finished 1st and 4th, respectively. In the Grand-Am Cup Series manufacturer standings, Porsche's three-straight wins in the Grand Sport class has given it a 24-point lead over Nissan and 32-point advantage over Ford. BMW continues to hold the top spot in the Sport Touring ranks with its eight-point lead over Acura. After its first win of the season, Mazda moved into the third place in the Sport Touring manufacturer standings, 14 points behind the leader.
