3 Year Phoenix win streak on the line this weekend

Posted (04/06/2004) - Phoenix ProMotions heads into the Phoenix weekend with a 3 year win streak at Phoenix International Raceway. Dating back to 2001, the team has won four Grand-Am Cup races in four different types of race cars: 2001 - Wayne & Will Nonnamaker - Acura Integra GSR - ST II class 2002 - Shane Lewis & Joe Nonnamaker - Chevrolet Corvette - GS I class 2003 - Howie Liebengood & Will Nonnamaker - Acura Integra LS - ST II class - Joe & Wayne Nonnamaker - Porsche 996 - GS II class "I can't really say why we have such good luck out at Phoenix International Raceway. This is a very tight, technical track, and maybe somehow this has played to our strengths." - states team founder Bill Pate, "We are very fortunate, and hopefully our luck continues this weekend." Additionally, in that span of time, the team also secured a 3rd place in the 2002 Sports Touring I class event. Thus, putting the team on the podium in all 4 classes of the Grand-Am Cup at Phoenix International Raceway. For the 2004 event at Phoenix International Raceway, the team will be entering TheRaceSite.com Racing's #40, #43, & #44 SpeedSource Porsches. TheRaceSite.com has finished 1st and 4th in both of the 1st two events of the year. Those consistent finishes has resulted in the GS Driver's points lead; 1st & 2nd - Craig Stanton & Terry Borcheller, 3rd & 4th - Joe & Wayne Nonnamaker. The Phoenix ProMotions effort has a long and successful history. With over twenty years of professional racing, the Phoenix ProMotions team has secured some very strong results. The team has scored Six Driver Championships, Six Team Championships, and Seven Manufacturer Championships. Within the Grand-Am Cup, the team leads several categories: Victories (22), Podiums (57), Top 5s (78), Pole Positions (14), and Fastest Race Laps (19).
